The blue marlin is an amazingly beautiful fish. It is also one of the largest fish to roam the ocean. This strikingly unique species spend most of their lives far out in the ocean. Their large size and physique have made them very popular for deep sea fishing tours and charters. Because of their size and their beauty they are one of the most popularly fished species in the sea. Go Blue Marlin Fishing!

Size

Claiming the title of the largest Atlantic marlin, the blue marlin is also one of the biggest fish in the world. Females can reach sizes of up to 14 feet in length, and just under 2,000 pounds. Females are larger than the males. The average sizes tend to range around 11 feet in length and around 400 pounds in weight.

Physique

Blue marlins are very easy to recognize. This is because of their size as well as their unique markings and physical attributes. Blue marlins have a cobalt-blue color gracing their top half and a silvery-white on their bottom. They feature a distinct dorsal fin as well as their long spear-like jaw which they are known for. They are a species with great agility and can be very dangerous as well.

Habitat

Blue marlins are located in tropical waters. They are native to the warmer temperatures that can be found in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. They stay near the surface of the water as the temperature is warmer. Their cuisine includes: mackerel, tuna, and the occasional squid. In addition to their feeding habits they also follow the warm ocean currents in their migratory pattern.

Fishing

Blue marlins are particularly known for putting up a fight when hooked. This is why so many Panama fishing charter exist that feature blue marlin fishing. Blue marlins are a trophy fish to catch especially among sport fishers. Although the blue marlin is not an endangered species, there is concern that they may be fished to unsustainable levels.

Endangered

Because the blue marlin is a popular fish to catch in the sport fishing arena, they may be encroaching upon endangered status. Not only are they fished frequently for sport, they also taste good. Their meat is considered a delicacy in many places, including Japan. It is served raw as Sashimi in Japan.

The former COO of AmeriFirst Acceptance Corp. and AmeriFirst Funding Corp. was recently convicted of multiple counts of Texas securities fraud and mail fraud for his involvement in bilking over 500 investors of over million. A lot of the victims of Dennis Woods Bowden were retirees.

Per evidence that was given at trial, the 58-year-old executive and Jeffrey Charles Bruteyn, who was AmeriFirst’s managing director, made available Secured Debt Obligations (SDOs) as promissory note offerings to raise millions of dollars from investors in Florida and Texas. A lot of these clients, who were no longer employed, had hoped to place their money in investments that were safe.

While Bruteyn, who was convicted of nine counts of Texas securities fraud, directed brokers to sell the securities, it was Bowden who deceived and misled and defrauded them by signing the documents that were given to investors and misrepresenting/not disclosing material facts about the securities and the risks involved. For example, he falsely represented to investors that:

•	A commercial bank was guaranteeing investors’ investments Interest in certain kinds of collateral was secured by the investors’ principal
•	Insurance had been bought to protect investors’ money
•	The SDO’s issuers were also acting as the fiduciary of investors.

In fact, all of these “facts” were untrue. Instead, Bowden served as “fiduciary” and spent investors’ money on things they had not approved or even known about.

Senior Financial Fraud
Unfortunately, senior financial fraud continues to be a huge problem in Texas and elsewhere in the US. The state of Texas even recently started running public service announcements to warn investors to be wary of “free lunch” seminars that promise free meals but were, in fact, an excuse to “hard sell” attendees into making investments that may not be appropriate for them. The PSAs also are reminding seniors to check the background of anyone they decide to go into an investment opportunity with—even if the other person is a friend, a fellow community member, or a co-worker.

Unfortunately, retirees continue to be the favorite targets for many seeking to bilk investors. With many of these elderly seniors no longer having a regular source of income, becoming the victim of Texas securities fraud can have devastating consequences, making it difficult for the victims to afford the care they may need or maintain the quality of life they have worked so hard to give themselves.

The way a person deals with emotions is a major factor in why they use alcohol to cope. The dependency to alcohol is used as a way to escape the consequences from mistakes that a person makes. What many alcoholics don’t understand is that drinking comes with its own consequences. To finally obtain peace and break the addiction, people should enter inpatient alcohol addiction treatment.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is an important key in finding peace. It is one of the many topics focused on in alcohol rehab. Every patient begins with forgiving him/herself so that they can accept that there is no need to feel guilty or ashamed of actions that were committed in the past. Many of the exercises done will also try to help bring conflicting personal issues to the surface.

Empowerment

Another aspect that is highly important is the sense of empowerment. Being empowered can help people overcome their addiction by making them appear bigger than their problems. The contextualizing of abusive and negative experiences can reduce the amount of stress and anxiety a person carries with their emotions. With the decline of stress, patients will begin to notice improvements in health related problems.

Relapse-Free

Everyone is encouraged to believe that they will recover successfully and be relapse free. With the creation of healthy boundaries, patients will learn their limitations and how to avoid potential stressors in their lives. Everyone is encourage to write daily as a way of letting go of emotions that are hindering positive progress.

One-On-One

As patients are going through the detoxification process, great care is taken to ensure everyone’s safety. Any meetings that occur at this point are usually one-on-one. Every patient will have personal time with a therapist that will help in preventing any temptation to depend on alcohol again during this particular point.

Withdrawal

With drug rehab, an individual will have to fight and overcome withdrawal symptoms that may include irritability, mood swings, depression and aggressive behavior. Personnel at a specific rehabilitation facility will be able to effectively deal with people when withdrawal occurs. In some cases, medication will be administered to help stabilize a patient. This is usually true for people that have hidden psychological disorders.

Aftercare

A healthy patient can be released form rehab once he/she has completed the necessary programs successfully. A therapist will also decide whether the patient is healthy enough to leave the clinic. A celebration is always held at the commencement to celebrate full recovery. It is a great way to increase a patient’s confidence, especially if he/she is surrounded by family and friends who provide support.
